Guide to Nerds

No, we’re not talking about the high school stereotype. We’re talking about one of America’s most popular sweets. But even so, after this blog post you will know so much you will be a Nerd nerd!

Nerds are brightly coloured candies that look like small, pebbles or rocks. There are two flavours per box. The original flavours were Cherry/Orange and Strawberry/Grape. Now, there are many more flavours including Sour-lightning Lemon/Amped Apple, Wild berry/Peach, Wild Cherry/Watermelon and much more!

Nerds were invented in 1983 by Angelo Fraggos. They were launched by Nestle under its Wonka brand. Nestle’s Wonka brand was based on Roald Dahl’s book “Charlie and the Chocolate factory”. It was created to bring Roald Dahl’s wondrous, imaginative world to life.
