Guide to Turkish Delights

Guide to Turkish Delights

Turkish delights are soft, chewy sweets made from water, sugar, lemon cream of tartar and rosewater. They are said to have been invented by Hadji Bekir in the Anatolian mountain town of Kastamonu. He called his creation “Rahat lokhoum” which is Arabic for “soothing to the throat”.

These delightful sweets also appeared in C.S. Lewis’s “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe” as the sweets the White witch uses to lure Edmund.

Indulge yourself in Turkish Delights by coming to our Central and Wan Chai stores and buying some. Don’t worry you won’t suffer the same fate as Edmund from the Chronicles of Narnia. But even if he was captured by the White witch, *SPOILER ALERT* he did end up as a king. All’s well that ends well, right?

Don’t forget to share this post with your friends, family and yes even the White witch if you see her. Comment below. We’ll be posting a new post in a few weeks.
