Guide to Wham Bars

Now we know we already did a post featuring Wham bars (click here) but we felt this candy is just too good that it deserves its own post. So we’re revisiting the Wham bars and this time we’re going to add even more information and fun facts on the wonderful Wham bars.

Wham bars are raspberry flavoured chewing bars known for their tongue-tingling fizziness. Their fizziness comes from the sherbet inside. They were created in the 1980s and were so popular that over 30 million were sold each year in the 80s.

Aside from their original raspberry flavour, Wham bars are also available in flavours such as strawberry, cola, brew, extreme super sour, sour apple and sour cherry.

Despite approximately 23 million Wham bars still being sold a year, in 2011, the original maker of the Wham bar, McCowans, went broke. Luckily for the Wham bar, Tangerine confectionary bought the rights to produce this marvelous British sweet.

Although this sweet has faced many ups and downs it is still being sold today and is stronger than ever. In fact, you can buy Wham bars from our stores in Central and Wan Chai and re-live some of that 80s glory. Don’t forget to share this post about a staple British sweet so it can become more popular than ever before. Also, comment below on what sweet you would like us to write about next. See you in a few weeks when we will have a new post up.
